Doing what I love

Once more my life has been overwhelmed with a big decision.  Well, I take that back.  As a very wise person told me, it's not a decision until you're being offered the job.

I have officially thrown my name into the hat for the head coaching job.  I've spoken to many dear friends and family and have come to the conclusion that, if nothing else, I would be silly to not take the chance.  Part of me knows I'll be taking something on that will drive me absolutely nuts.  Sure there will be days I will come home crying and wondering why in the world I am putting myself through it all.  However, there will be other days that I will be elated with a performance or seeing a young woman succeed in something she previously wouldn't have.
I love teaching.  I truly do.  I love the feeling of sharing knowledge and skills with others.  I love instilling hope and courage in young women.
I only hope that through coaching I can do what I love.  If there is ever a time I don't believe in what I am saying or doing, I hope that I will recognize that and stop.  Until then, though, I want to give what I can to these girls.  I want to be an example of strength, courage, and love to these young and impressionable women, and I want to encourage them to recognize the same traits in themselves.

I'll need many prayers!

B-I-N-G-O

What better way to spend the first summer night than in a VFW hall playing Bingo?!

We arrived just in time for the "early bird" games and quickly became overwhelmed with the idea that cards were only $1. Anyone can feel rich in a place like this! We purchased our daubbers and bingo cards and got to work...

$43 and 10 games of bingo later, we walked out with more than we came.
Did we win?
Absolutely not!
But what we gained was a knowledge of more bingo games than anyone has ever seen (fly a kite, 7/11, who knew?!), a tummy full of $1 hot dogs and ice cream cones and two new daubbers that will see many more bingo cards in their future.

Not to mention our good luck charms Lil Dog and Raffie. They came along for the ride, but didn't seem to carry their weight on the luck side.

We will be back and we WILL win a game of Bingo.

Hello Summer!

First Post

Rio says...
Summer has begun.
What better way to spend my time than to record my daily activities for all to see?!

I am hoping to recruit a few guest bloggers to assist me in my musings. I imagine they will be much more exciting than me, but that will be for you to judge.

For now, I will continue on my summer adventure!
